Job summary

Eurofins UK Environment Testing in Grimsby, England, is hiring a Laboratory Technician to support preparation and analysis of water samples to defined quality standards. The role includes following SOPs, handling samples securely, and maintaining accurate records. Full training is provided, no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Maths, English and Science GCSE grade C or above or equivalent.
• Experience in a fast-paced working environment is preferred.
• Awareness of good laboratory practices required.
• Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of water samples using good laboratory practice.
• Preparing and dispensing consumables.
• Undergo training and follow SOPs and safe systems of work.
• Ensure samples are handled with temperature control and sample integrity.
• Maintain accurate records per quality procedures.
• Perform calibrations and daily checks as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the lab.
• Report anomalies to supervisor.
• Comply with Health and Safety procedures; keep area clean.

Job Description

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

This is a full time role working 37.5 Hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 till 20:00.

Purpose of this role is to complete, to the required quality standards, the preparation of samples for a given method. To assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory. To share the vision of providing the best possible quality to ensure each sample is processed with precision and accuracy. Full training provided, no previous experience necessary.

• Preparation and analysis of water samples utilising good laboratory practice.
• Preparing and dispensing consumables
• Undergo training and follow laboratory SOPs and Safe Systems of Work
• Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.
• Maintenance of accurate and systematic records as detailed in the quality procedures.
• Perform calibrations, daily checks and other quality related tasks as required.
• Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
• Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.
• Comply with Health and Safety procedures keeping the working environment clean and tidy
• Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
• Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
