Job summary

Eurofins UK Environment Testing is seeking a part-time Weekend Water Microbiology Laboratory Technician. The role involves preparing and analysing water samples, following SOPs, and ensuring sample integrity.

Full training is provided, no previous experience is required, and the position operates Saturdays and Sundays from 07:00 to 15:00. The successful candidate will work in a busy lab environment, maintain records, perform calibrations, and support continuous improvement while adhering to

• GCSE Maths, English and Science (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
• Experience in a fast paced working environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse water samples using good laboratory practice.
• Prepare and dispense consumables.
• Follow SOPs and Safe Systems of Work.
• Ensure samples are stored and handled with temperature control and sample integrity.
• Maintain accurate records as per quality procedures.
• Perform calibrations, daily checks and other quality tasks.
• Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
• Report anomalies to your direct report.

This is a part time, permanent position, working Saturday & Sunday 07:00 - 15:00.

Purpose of the post:

To complete, to the required quality standards, the preparation of samples for a given method. To assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory. To share the vision of providing the best possible quality to ensure each sample is processed with precision and accuracy.Full training provided, no previous experience necessary.

• Preparation and analysis of water samples utilising good laboratory practice.
• Preparing and dispensing consumables
• Undergo training and follow laboratory SOPs and Safe Systems of Work
• Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.
• Maintenance of accurate and systematic records as detailed in the quality procedures.
• Perform calibrations, daily checks and other quality related tasks as required.
• Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
• Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.
• Comply with Health and Safety procedures keeping the working environment clean and tidy
• Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
• Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
• Maths, English, Science at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
