Job summary

Sun Chemical is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Research & Development team based in Midsomer Norton, UK. You will contribute to the development of new products for Inkjet, solvent, UV, and Electronic Materials markets and support formulation and testing activities.

You will work within a collaborative team, apply your scientific knowledge to solve problems, and maintain testing protocols. The role offers a competitive salary, pension, and 26 days holiday with service, plus

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (A*-C / 4+) with emphasis on science subjects and A Levels in Chemistry/Biology/Physics or related discipline. Degree in Science related subject preferable but not essential.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to devise test methods, analyse results and disseminate them professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new products for Inkjet, solvent, UV, and Electronic Materials markets aligned with company strategy.
  • Developing and maintaining application testing protocols; maintenance and SOP development of equipment (e.g. test equipment).
  • Daily tasks in the laboratory as required.
  • Product Development and formulation/research of new and existing products.
  • Interact with internal and external customers to advance product development in PCB and Electronic Materials segments.
  • Provide updates of project progress, including communication with project leaders.
  • Provide both technical and customer service support when necessary.
  • Product Compliance and Safety commitments.

The Role

Responsibilities
  • To develop new products for use in the Inkjet, solvent, UV, and Electronic Materials market that are aligned with the company strategy.

Qualifications / Experience Critical for the job Holder
  • Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment, job specific training will be given
  • Minimum 5 GCSE (A*-C / 4+) with emphasis on science subjects and A Levels in Chemistry/Biology/Physics or related discipline. Degree in Science related subject preferable but not essential.
  • Competent in the use of MSOffice (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
