Job summary

British Gypsum in Robertsbridge is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to help ensure our products consistently meet the highest quality standards through routine sampling and testing. You’ll play an important role in keeping day-to-day laboratory operations running smoothly and safely, and you’ll collaborate with colleagues across performance, engineering and operations.

While predominantly lab-based, you’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in wider site activities alongside your team.

Qualifications

• Laboratory experience with autonomy to act and conduct trials and tests.
• Exposure to quality control would be advantageous.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills enabling positive relationships and transfer of information.
• Ability to interpret data and use results for quick decision making.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with product specifications and standard methods.
• Lead and/or support root cause analysis and analytical problem solving related to product performance, process, quality and plant issues.
• Identify improvement opportunities through statistical analysis of laboratory and production line data.
• Support production line trials ensuring product control, testing, and traceability is maintained.
• Keep accurate paper and/or computer records of all laboratory testing, investigations, and trials, and report on a regular basis.
