Job summary

South East Water Limited is seeking a Laboratory Services Analyst to support the Water Quality team. You will process samples, input data into LIMS, and coordinate front‑of‑house service for commercial customers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills, with prior lab or admin experience beneficial. A‑level education is required, an undergraduate degree is a bonus, and water laboratory experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

You will ensure every sample and delivery is received and processed with precision, seamlessly managing data input within our Laboratory Information Management System. Beyond technical handling, you will serve as the premier front‑of‑house contact for our commercial customers—managing bottle requests, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining seamless communication across departments. We are looking for an ambitious candidate educated to A-level standard (or equivalent, with a relevant undergraduate degree being a strong bonus) who ideally brings a solid scientific background and prior experience in a laboratory or administrative setting. Main responsibilities

• Processing all samples and deliveries that arrive at the laboratory on time.
• Ensuring data is accurately entered into the Laboratory Information Management System.
• Completing customer bottle requests and ensure reusable items are properly maintained and available when needed.
• Communicating with senior members of staff on any quality/technical issue as well as with other members of the Water Quality Department and Commercial Customers.
• Maintaining day to day contact with commercial customers and other South East water Employees as front of house contact for commercial customers.
• Offering suggestions for improvements to methods and processes that will improve efficiency, flexibility & quality while developing analytical knowledge and other Laboratory & Water Quality skills.
• Always maintaining good laboratory practice and housekeeping.

You’ll need
