Job summary

South East Water Limited in Farnborough is seeking a Commercial Accounts Manager to manage key client contracts and commercial relationships with Scientific Services customers, providing first-line technical support and advice.

You will work independently and with teams, help develop market strategy, assist with advertising campaigns and marketing materials, and coordinate with the laboratory to prioritise workloads while adhering to HSE policies.

Qualifications

Job description

Summary: As the Commercial Accounts Manager, you will manage key client contracts, maintain commercial relationships with Scientific Services customers, and support SEW's market position in laboratory analysis. You will serve as the primary contact, providing first-line technical support and advice to commercial clients. In addition to managing key accounts, you will assist with market strategy, using industry knowledge to identify market opportunities and supporting advertising campaigns and marketing materials. Working both independently and across teams, you will coordinate with the laboratory to prioritise workloads, resolve operational issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities also include using systems like LIMS, CSM, and web portals, adhering to HSE legislation and company policies, and managing customer notifications regarding non-conformities and failure reports.

Main responsibilities

• Account Management Maintain and develop the relationship with existing customers.
• Ensure all customer services are maintained.
• Development of customer services Contributing to the development and implementation of customer focussed services.
• Deliver a top quality support service to our customers.
• Development of the market strategy Using market knowledge to assist in assessing market opportunities.
• Assist in advertising campaigns and developing marketing material.
• A strong team player with the ability to work unsupervised and to produce quality outputs to key deadlines.
• Showing flexibility in occasional changes in hours/workload.
• Communicates with respect to internal and external contacts.
• Considers most appropriate method of communication and adheres to company communication policies and corporate standards.
• Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of Health, Safety and Environmental issues and adhere to relevant HSE legislation and Company policy.
• To be technically competent in the use of all IT support systems, LIMS, CSM, Portal and Web.
• The incumbent is expected to achieve deadlines and service level agreements with solid and sustained work outputs.
• To proactively identify problems relating to department processes and policies and is expected to take responsibility for putting forward solutions.
• Communicate effectively with Laboratory to assist with prioritisation of workload and customer requirements.
• To contribute significantly to the continuous improvement and assist with the strategic development of Scientific Services.
• Responsible for the timely completion of internal / external failure reports and non-conformities and notifications to external Scientific Services customers.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience

• Up to A-Level or equivalent.
• A good scientific background.
• A full, clean driving licence.
• Good numeracy, literacy & computer skills.
• Time management, communication.
• 2 years account management.
• Water quality or Analytical Laboratory Experience desirable.

Compensation package: up to £35000 p.a. (dependent on experience)
