Job summary

Pertemps Bond is seeking a Laboratory Assistant (Part-Time) in Suffolk to join a professional scientific environment, supporting day-to-day analytical testing and following established procedures with accuracy and quality in mind.

Hours are 9:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday (20 hours per week) at £14.00 per hour. Start ASAP until March 2027, with hands-on training and scope to gain practical lab experience.

Qualifications

• Strong practical aptitude and hands-on approach.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Organised, methodical and able to learn.
• Basic IT skills for recording test data.
• Desirable: experience in a laboratory environment.
• Desirable: science-related qualification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine analytical tests following predefined laboratory methods and procedures
• Prepare samples and assist with test set-up activities
• Record and maintain accurate laboratory data and documentation
• Ensure laboratory equipment and workspaces are kept clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards
• Follow all quality, safety and laboratory operating procedures
• Support laboratory colleagues with general testing and administrative activities as required
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment
