Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our Necropsy team in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37hrs. The role supports stock control, sample preparation and GLP-compliant laboratory operations.

Applicants should have GCSEs in Maths, English and Science and be able to work with Excel and Word. The position offers a route into a supportive, collaborative team with training provided.

Qualifications

• GCSEs of grades C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science.

Responsibilities

• Stock control, reagent preparation and ordering of consumables, labelling of pots and slides.
• Preparation/ archiving of a range of animal samples in accordance with study paperwork and SOPs.
• General housekeeping and cleaning procedures to ensure the continued daily operation of the laboratory.
• May assist in routine laboratory procedures, including animal postmortems and foetal sectioning.
• Working within the confines of a GLP environment.

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our Necropsy team at Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday – 37hrs

Job Responsibilities

• Stock control, reagent preparation and ordering of consumables, labelling of pots and slides
• Preparation/ archiving of a range of animal samples in accordance with study paperwork and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
• General housekeeping and cleaning procedures to ensure the continued daily operation of the laboratory
• May assist in routine laboratory procedures, including animal postmortems and foetal sectioning
• Working within the confines of a GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) environment

Minimum Qualifications

• GCSEs of grades C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science

• All tasks will be performed with minimal supervision on satisfactory completion of training
• All training will be provided, and this is a great first step for anyone looking to get into the industry.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information
• Some manual lifting is required
• Some weekend work may be required
