Job summary

NWG Laboratory Analyst (2) role at Howdon, Tyneside, within our UKAS accredited laboratory. You will perform routine analytical duties, follow health and safety guidelines, and receive full training to develop your skills across lab sections.

This full-time position is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary from £25,878 to £29,000 per year depending on experience. NWG values accuracy, teamwork and continuous development in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • UKAS accredited laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to follow health and safety guidelines and analytical methods.
  • Experience analysing environmental samples is advantageous.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Analyst to join our Laboratory team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing routine analytical duties that contribute to the high standards of our UKAS accredited facility.

You’ll begin your journey in a specific area of the laboratory, where you’ll receive full training and support to develop your skills. As your experience grows, you’ll have the opportunity to work flexibly across different sections of the lab, gaining exposure to a wide range of techniques and processes.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be confident reading and following health and safety guidelines, written analytical methods, and technical procedures with accuracy and care. Ideally, you’ll bring experience from a UKAS accredited laboratory working on a variety of analytical techniques. If you have experience of analysing environmental samples, this will be an advantage.

We’re looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail and a methodical approach to their work. You’ll be a strong team player who’s flexible, supportive, and ready to collaborate with others to meet shared goals.
