Job summary

Guardian Jobs is helping a Bristol-based chemistry company recruit a hands-on Laboratory/Facilities Assistant to support R&D and day-to-day operations at their on-site facility. You will help maintain instrumentation, document procedures, and assist scientists with routine tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a BSc in a scientific or engineering field and experience working in a laboratory setting, with strong numeracy and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• BSc in an appropriate field (e.g. Sciences or engineering).
• Further qualifications or equivalent experience (e.g. in an academic/industrial laboratory).
• Proficiency in MS Office and lab documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• General facility housekeeping and stock management for consumables and equipment.
• Maintain facilities, equipment and instrumentation; assist with training for routine maintenance.
• Liaise with external suppliers for equipment servicing and procurement.
• Assist science team with research tasks, data analysis, and process optimisation.
• Ensure safety culture with timely reporting of incidents and improvements.
