Job summary

Cambridge Consultants is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Applied Science team. You will contribute hands-on testing, wet chemistry, and QA across multiple innovative projects.

You will maintain lab equipment, follow SOPs and health and safety regulations, and provide essential safety training to engineers and scientists.

This role offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment in a fast-moving R&D setting at our United Kingdom laboratories.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a laboratory, test house, or production QA processes.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong ability to perform hands-on laboratory procedures in a methodical, precise, and safe manner.
• Flexible and organised, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Adaptable to changing project demands and requirements.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Competency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and communication skills.
• Capable of delivering essential safety training to engineers and scientists, and providing guidance on the use of laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• General laboratory housekeeping and maintenance of a variety of facilities.
• Daily and weekly equipment checks.
• Performing verification testing and evaluating systems and devices under development.
• Following standard operating procedures and adhering to health and safety regulations in each workspace.
• Accurately recording and reporting results to project team members and other stakeholders.
• Advising engineers on laboratory safety practices and the proper use of laboratory equipment.
• Participating in mechanical rig assembly and testing, as required.
• Provide support to wet labs by preparing stock solutions and work solutions as needed by project teams.
