Job summary

Tetra Tech Bedford is seeking a meticulous Sample Reception Officer to join our laboratory team in Bedford on a full-time, 6-month fixed term contract. You will oversee incoming samples, review accompanying documentation and ensure accurate recording in the LIMS to support analytical testing and timely delivery.

The role focuses on accurate sample handling, clear communication with project coordination and laboratory colleagues, and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Interest in science and ability to work independently are important.
• Experience using LIMS software would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Record sample information, temperatures, deviations and paperwork in LIMS.
• Receive, unpack, store and track samples ensuring accurate location handling.
• Coordinate with laboratory colleagues and project team to support timely sample processing and disposal.
• Follow procedures for sample reception, storage, and basic preparation while maintaining traceability.
• Work effectively under pressure to manage multiple deliveries in a fast-paced environment.
