Job summary

University of Oxford's Department of Paediatrics is seeking a proactive Laboratory Assistant to support a busy research laboratory. You will help coordinate maintenance, monitor equipment, and ensure spaces and facilities are well organised to sustain world‑leading biomedical research.

You will liaise with researchers, contractors and service providers, contribute to health and safety compliance, and help with stock control, waste management and freezer monitoring in a dynamic, collaborative

Qualifications

• Experience supporting laboratory, facilities or building operations.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and coordinating with researchers, contractors and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate routine maintenance activities and monitor laboratory equipment.
• Support organisation of laboratory spaces and facilities.
• Liaise with researchers, contractors and service providers to ensure timely maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with laboratory housekeeping, waste management, stock control, freezer monitoring and safety compliance.
