Job summary

Georgia State University’s Perimeter College Newton Campus is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to oversee daily laboratory operations, enforce safety procedures, and provide direct support to instructional activities.

You will supervise technicians and student workers, procure materials and equipment, maintain inventories, and collaborate with faculty to ensure laboratories are prepared for classes and courses proceed smoothly.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the assigned research area or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in the assigned research area and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
• Experience with setting up, maintaining and using various lab equipment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three laboratory courses per semester based on departmental instructional needs and cover for temporary faculty absences.
• Order, prepare, and maintain laboratory supplies, materials, and equipment for weekly instruction.
• Develop and maintain current laboratory procedures manuals for instructors and technicians.
• Recruit, train, and supervise student assistants and laboratory technicians.
• Maintain laboratory facilities to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate procurement and logging of purchases, vendor quotations, and equipment maintenance, reporting issues to leadership.
