What you'll do

1. Design, implement, and maintain the overall structure and operations of the Brookman’s Park lab and its supporting data center.
2. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve lab needs, prioritize resources, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
3. Provide input on budgetary requirements for lab equipment, maintenance, and operational expenses.
4. Assist in implementing a range of service methodologies, including incident management, problem management, capacity management, and more.
5. Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
6. Coordinate technical and IT issues on site and provide support.
7. Provide support and maintain lab system access and automation to support testing of various satellite terminals Over the Air and via Satellite simulator.
8. Update lab device and cable management documentation and relevant system database like Patch Manager.
9. Ensure health and safety needs are carried out for lab tenants and visitors.
10. Facilitate and coordinate lab installs including the data center/lab and antenna gantry.

The day-to-day

1. Develop and document standard methodologies for lab utilization, equipment maintenance, data management, and safety. Update lab management tools such as Patch Manager.
2. Supervise the acquisition, installation, calibration, and maintenance of RF and network test equipment and data center infrastructure.
3. Run the day-to-day operations of the 60-cabinet data center, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
4. Engage in practical testing and addressing issues (RF, networking, servers, etc) as the situation demands.
5. Audit lab and storage items.

What you'll need

1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in information technology (servers, networking, lab management).
3. Proficient understanding of RF engineering/VSAT principles and practices.
4. Experience with hands-on networking configuring and resolving problems with switches/routers.
5. Ability to develop and implement efficient lab processes that can be demonstrated.
6. Experience with data center operations and management.
7. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
8. Strong organizational, attention to detail and time management abilities.
9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Show knowledge of Linux OS, VMware, AWS, and automation systems.
11. Ability to be onsite at our Lab facility.

What will help you on the job

1. Experience with a variety of RF test equipment and software. VSAT installation experience is a nice to have.
2. Experience with networking. Cisco certification CCNA/CCNP or JUNOS equivalent ideal.
3. Knowledge of data center infrastructure, networking, and DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) including experience with Patch Manager.
4. Experience with lab automation tools and software.
5. Show exceptional abilities in effectively addressing and solving challenges.
6. Strong logistical and coordination abilities (installation of new VSAT or preparation for customer demonstrations).
