Job summary

Amazon's Cambridge lab seeks a Lab Engineer to operate and continuously improve the test lab used by software development and QA teams.

You will own day-to-day lab operations, maintaining devices, test stands, and infrastructure, combining hands-on hardware work with automation and cross‑functional coordination.

This role covers provisioning devices, troubleshooting, lab health, and collaboration with SDETs and IT to support expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience.
• Experience in software QA testing and writing test plans.
• Experience in a consumer electronics lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Cambridge test lab with reliable devices and environments.
• Assemble, configure, and maintain test stands for devices.
• Provision Android and iOS devices; configure OS and software.
• Onboard new Ring/Blink product families, including stand setup and provisioning.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, Wi‑Fi, and connectivity issues.
• Develop lightweight automation scripts for provisioning and health checks.
• Monitor lab health and improve reliability and efficiency.
• Coordinate hardware installations and inventory management.
• Maintain documentation for lab configuration and procedures.
