Job summary

SoCode Recruitment is seeking a Contract Systems Test Engineer in Cambridge. The role focuses on developing and modernising production test systems for lighting controllers, replacing ageing equipment and designing a complete test solution from requirements to hardware and software.

The ideal candidate will own the test system end-to-end, combining LabVIEW/TestStand development with hardware selection and system integration for a robust, maintainable ATE solution.

Qualifications

• Experience developing automated test systems using LabVIEW and/or TestStand.
• Experience with test & measurement equipment and integrating hardware into automated test systems.
• Experience building or working with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and test stands.

Responsibilities

• Develop new automated test systems from a clean slate, not inheriting existing tech.
• Work with engineers to understand testing requirements and define the test system.
• Translate requirements into appropriate test equipment, instrumentation and architecture.
• Specify and select test hardware based on system requirements.
• Design and build complete ATE/test stand solutions using off-the-shelf equipment.
• Develop test systems for lighting controllers using a rack-based ATE approach.
• Document system requirements, design decisions and test configurations.
• Build/integrate test equipment into robust, maintainable systems.
• Take ownership of system design and lead technical discussions.
