Job summary

Southey Green Nursery & Primary School in Sheffield is seeking a proactive teaching support assistant to help across the curriculum and deliver targeted interventions. You will work closely with teachers, support pupils with SEND, and help manage classrooms to promote positive behaviour and progress.

The role requires strong literacy/numeracy skills, excellent communication with children, staff and parents, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting pupils with SEND.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy or SEMH.
• Experience working with pupils with ASD/ADHD and speech & language needs.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils in a primary or secondary school setting.
• Delivering targeted interventions in reading, writing, phonics, maths, or social and emotional development.
• Working with children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH needs.
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Supervising groups of pupils independently.
• Contributing to EHCPs and pupil reviews.
• Building positive relationships with pupils to support learning and wellbeing.
