Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced specialist to provide expert-level support for FAS applications in complex C4ISR environments. You will maintain virtualised platforms, troubleshoot hosted services, and integrate tactical data links across multi-site, secure networks.

The role requires strong Windows/UNIX knowledge, networking, and cross-domain collaboration with stakeholders, in a Defence-oriented setting. UK residency and vetting are expected.

Qualifications

Expert-level knowledge of virtualised environments (VMware, vSphere, Hyper-V).
Strong experience supporting FAS/C4ISR or similar complex applications.
Knowledge of tactical data links and integration of IP, serial and sensor-based data feeds.
Experience with instant messaging technologies and wide-area messaging networks, including federation and cross-domain interoperability.
Strong understanding of Windows and UNIX-hosted applications and services.
Experience with networking, DNS, Active Directory, DFS, PKI, LDAP, Kerberos and related infrastructure services.
Database and application support experience with MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, IIS, Apache, Java, XML and SOAP.
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, platform, network and infrastructure layers.
Desirable experience with Solaris 10, NISP, NIS+, ZFS Zones, SMB and SharePoint.
Desirable experience with NATO NIRIS, S2S/C2S, nICCLink, US GCCS, HeATS, GrATS, BOWMAN BITS, TNG, TACNIP, JCSSA, MCCIS, IC…

Responsibilities

Provide expert-level support for FAS applications in complex C4ISR environments.
Maintain and troubleshoot virtualised platforms and hosted application services.

Requirements

Must be a UK National
May be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting, including criminal record, security service and credit reference checks
Security vetting qualification will normally require at least 5 years of UK residency

Core Competencies

Demonstrates expert-level support for FAS applications in complex C4ISR environments, with strong capabilities in virtualized platforms, tactical data link integration, and multi-domain application support. Proficient in troubleshooting across various systems and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
