Job summary

BrickRed Systems is seeking an experienced L2 Support Engineer to provide second-line application and technical support for enterprise applications in Reading. You will investigate complex incidents, troubleshoot issues, and drive root-cause analysis to ensure timely resolutions.

The role requires strong skills in C#/.NET, SQL Server, REST APIs, and Azure, plus ITIL processes and ticketing tools. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain system health and support releases.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in application or production support.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex systems.
• Good understanding of C#/.NET applications and architecture.
• Experience with SQL Server and writing basic to intermediate queries.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and web services.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud and monitoring tools.
• Experience with ITIL incident, problem and change management.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and application deployment.
• Experience in regulated or UK public sector environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide second-line technical and application support for enterprise applications.
• Investigate and resolve application incidents escalated by L1 support teams.
• Perform detailed troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause investigation.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend permanent fixes to improve application stability.
• Monitor application health, performance, and availability.
• Work with development, infrastructure, and L3 teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Analyse application errors, database issues, and API-related failures.
• Support application releases, deployments, patches, and maintenance activities.
• Manage incidents and service requests in accordance with agreed SLAs.
• Maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles.
• Participate in problem management and continuous service improvement initiatives.
