Job description

Are you an experienced Learning & Development professional looking for the opportunity to shape learning, leadership and talent across a global industrial group?

I am delighted to be recruiting a Learning & Development Partner to take a leading role in developing a forward-thinking, Group-wide approach to learning and organisational capability. Working closely with senior leaders, HR colleagues and operational teams, you will have significant scope to influence how the organisation develops its people, strengthens leadership capability and builds the skills needed for future growth.

You will act as a partner to the business, creating practical and scalable solutions while remaining close enough to the organisation to ensure learning genuinely translates into improved performance. There is also a key focus on building the functionality of the LMS.

What You'll Do

You will take ownership of a broad L&D and capability agenda, including:

  • Designing, sourcing and evaluating high-impact learning solutions aligned to business priorities, performance, change and compliance.

  • Developing leadership and management capability at all levels of the organisation.

  • Establishing a structured approach to coaching, including executive and internal coaching capability.

  • Supporting succession planning and accelerating the development of high-potential talent.

  • Identifying current and future organisational capability gaps and creating solutions to address them.

  • Supporting transformation and change through targeted learning and development interventions.

  • Leading the development and optimisation of learning technology and digital learning solutions, including LMS capability.

  • Overseeing HSE training provision and ensuring it remains aligned to regulatory and operational requirements.

  • Using assessment tools, psychometrics, development centres and data-led insight to inform talent and development decisions.

  • Creating meaningful measures of success that demonstrate the impact of learning on organisational capability and performance.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for an accomplished L&D, Talent or Organisational Development professional who can combine strategic thinking with pragmatic delivery.

You will ideally bring:

  • Senior-level L&D, Talent or OD experience gained within a complex, multi-site organisation.

  • A strong track record in leadership and management development.

  • Experience of talent management, succession planning and assessment methodologies.

  • Confidence influencing and challenging senior stakeholders.

  • Experience using learning technology and digital solutions to improve accessibility and impact, including building the functionality of a new LMS.

  • A commercial mindset and the ability to connect development activity to tangible business outcomes.

  • Exposure to industrial or engineering environments and an understanding of HSE training requirements would be advantageous but not essential.

What's on offer

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants genuine scope to shape rather than simply maintain an L&D agenda. You will work across the organisation, partnering with senior and operational leaders to build stronger leadership, deeper internal talent pipelines and the organisational capabilities required for the future.

If you are commercially minded, passionate about developing people and comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on delivery, this role offers the breadth, visibility and influence to make a tangible difference.
