Job summary

Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Learning & Development Site Lead for a Devon-based site. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on delivery to raise workforce capability and leadership development in a busy operations environment.

You will partner with the HR Director and senior management to identify skills gaps, design engaging learning solutions, and implement initiatives that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Learning & Development, Training or Talent Development.
• Experience designing, delivering and evaluating training programmes.
• Strong facilitation, presentation and coaching skills.
• Experience supporting leadership development and management training.
• Ability to conduct training needs analysis and translate findings into solutions.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
• A hands-on yet strategic contributor to wider learning strategies.
• A degree in HR, Education, OD, Psychology or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement learning initiatives aligned with business objectives and workforce needs.
• Conduct training needs analyses to identify gaps and future opportunities.
• Design, coordinate and deliver engaging training programmes for staff, managers and leaders.
• Support leadership development through coaching, workshops and structured learning.
• Work with HR, Operations, Quality and senior stakeholders to ensure training meets needs.
• Manage onboarding and induction programmes for new starters.
• Support talent development, succession planning and career progression initiatives.
• Coordinate external training providers and specialist programmes.
• Maintain and develop Learning Management Systems and records.
• Monitor training effectiveness and report on metrics for improvement.
• Support regulatory, technical and compliance-related training where applicable.
• Promote a positive learning culture across the organisation.

Adepto Technical Recruitment are supporting one of our key clients in the pharmaceutical space, as they look to hire a Learning & Development Site Lead at their site in Devon.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and commercially minded Learning & Development professional to take ownership of training, employee development and leadership programmes across a busy operational environment.

Working closely with the HR Director and senior management team, you will play a key role in identifying skills gaps, developing workforce capability and delivering engaging learning solutions that support both individual career progression and wider business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement learning and development initiatives aligned with business objectives and workforce requirements.
• Conduct training needs analysis to identify skills gaps and future development opportunities.
• Design, coordinate and deliver engaging training programmes for employees, managers and emerging leaders.
• Support leadership and management development through coaching, workshops and structured learning initiatives.
• Work closely with HR, Operations, Quality and senior stakeholders to ensure training meets business needs.
• Manage employee onboarding and induction programmes, ensuring a positive and consistent experience for new starters.
• Support talent development, succession planning and career progression initiatives.
• Coordinate external training providers and manage the delivery of specialist training programmes.
• Maintain and develop Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring accurate training records and reporting.
• Monitor training effectiveness, analyse learning metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support technical, operational and compliance-related training requirements where applicable.
• Promote a positive learning culture across the organisation, encouraging employee engagement and professional development.

About You

We are looking for a confident, engaging and proactive Learning & Development professional who enjoys working closely with people at all levels of an organisation.

To be considered, you should have:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience within Learning & Development, Training or Talent Development.
• Proven experience designing, delivering and evaluating training programmes.
• Strong facilitation, presentation and coaching skills.
• Experience supporting leadership development and management training initiatives.
• The ability to conduct training needs analysis and translate findings into effective learning solutions.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
• A practical, hands-on approach combined with the ability to contribute to wider learning strategies.
• A relevant degree in HR, Education, Organisational Development, Psychology or a related discipline.

Desirable experience:

• Learning and development within a manufacturing, engineering or regulated environment.
• Experience supporting technical, operational or compliance training.
• Knowledge of leadership development frameworks or behavioural assessment tools such as Insights, MBTI, DiSC or Hogan.
• Experience working within a multi-site or international organisation.
