Job summary

G MASS is seeking an experienced KYC Checker to join its compliance function in Manchester. This second line role focuses on peer review and sign-off of CDD/EDD files, challenging and validating KYC makers’ work and ensuring files meet internal and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has 2 to 5+ years in a dedicated KYC/AML/compliance role within financial services, preferably in investment banking, with strong attention to detail and risk assessment skills.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5+ years of experience in a dedicated KYC, AML, or compliance role within financial services.
• Proven hands-on experience performing peer reviews or sign-offs in a checker capacity.
• Strong knowledge of global KYC regulation and internal policies.
• Ability to work independently, with excellent attention to detail and risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Act as checker, performing formal sign off on completed CDD and EDD files reviewed by KYC makers
• Own file reviews, performing quality checks and second line reviews on completed CDD and EDD files
• Validate KYC files against the client’s internal quality standards through robust quality assurance processes
• Manage a high volume of KYC cases and periodic reassessments within agreed timeframes
• Proactively identify and resolve complex KYC challenges, working closely with KYC makers to remediate issues
• Ensure risk ratings are applied accurately and align with company policy and regulatory thresholds
• Apply strong attention to detail and accuracy verification across all reviewed files
• Act as a point of escalation for regulatory and quality queries, liaising confidently with stakeholders globally
• Stay current on global KYC regulation and quickly absorb specific internal policies and jurisdictional requirements
• Familiarity with KYC platforms and case management systems
