Job summary

Darktrace is seeking a Mid-level Platform Engineer in R&D to design, build, and maintain the Kubernetes-based platform and automation used by product teams. The role emphasizes developing tooling, improving observability, and automating deployment pipelines to enable rapid software delivery in a hybrid Cambridge office environment.

You will work across clusters, implement security-conscious infrastructure, and mentor teams on best practices while staying up-to-date with the cloud-native

Qualifications

• Strong Kubernetes experience with 2+ years in production
• Experience with networking, storage, RBAC and scheduling
• Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
• Good understanding of networking and security principles
• Ability to analyze patterns in logs and issues

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure scalable, cloud-native infrastructure
• Operate and improve Kubernetes clusters across environments for reliability
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery
• Drive infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Stay current with cloud-native tooling and address operational challenges via automation
• Embed security into platform design and coach teams on best practices
• Design solutions with security controls to mitigate threats
• Coordinate changes across components with other team members
