Job summary

William Perkin CE High School seeks a KS5 Learning Mentor to support and mentor students, particularly in the transition towards teacher training. The role offers term-time hours with pro rata salary and potential part-time negotiation.

Job description

Salary: Grade 5, Scale point 12-15. Starting salary for term-time only for 17.5 hours per week is £14,992.

Closing date: Midnight Tuesday 13th October 2026

Interview date: W/c 19th October 2026

Working Pattern: Weds, Thurs and Fri (Friday leaving early) but could be open to negotiation

We are looking to appoint a committed professional to the role of KS5 Learning Mentor at William Perkin CE High School. William Perkin Church of England High School was opened in 2013 and is part of the Twyford Church of England Academies Trust. Its GCSE results place it within the top 5% of schools nationally. The school is founded on the successful systems and approaches of Twyford Trust, with the principle difference that it is a distinctively Christian school with open admission criteria. The school is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted (June 2015) and SIAMS (October 2016) and is oversubscribed on first choice applicants.

Roles are up to 35 hours per week however part-time applications can be considered, particularly for three or four days per week. Exact hours per week will be discussed and agreed at interview and the salary will therefore be a pro rata figure according to the hours worked.
