Job summary

Step Teachers is recruiting a KS4 General Science Teacher for a well-established independent school for students aged 7–18. This full-time, long-term opportunity starts January 2026 and offers a supportive, collaborative teaching environment with small class sizes.

The successful candidate will plan engaging lessons, prepare pupils for GCSEs and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs while upholding safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level is essential.
• Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Experience preparing students for GCSE Science examinations.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Teach General Science across Key Stage 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
• Differentiate learning to meet varying abilities and learning styles.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support students in developing scientific knowledge and practical skills.
