Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a KS4 General Science Teacher for a well-established independent school in Plymouth. The role starts January 2026 and offers a Full-Time long-term opportunity with a supportive, student-focused environment.

You will teach General Science across Key Stage 4, plan engaging lessons, prepare students for GCSEs, assess progress, differentiate instruction, and contribute to a positive classroom culture while upholding safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
• Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Experience preparing students for GCSE Science.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate learners.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Teach General Science across Key Stage 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
