Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching General Science at secondary level is preferred.
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for science education.
• Committed to raising achievement and supporting pupils’ academic and personal development.
• Good classroom management and organisational skills are essential.
• Be reflective, adaptable and keen to develop within a long-term teaching opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging General Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 in line with the national curriculum.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to support pupils of differing abilities and learning needs.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that promotes high standards of behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the science department and wider school community.
• Contribute to enrichment activities, revision sessions or intervention where required.
• Fulfil all general responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including safeguarding and pastoral duties.
