Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a passionate Dance Teacher for a Chelmsford secondary school. The role is four days per week on a long-term basis, starting immediately, primarily teaching GCSE Dance KS4 while also covering PE across KS3 and KS4.

You will need QTS with a Dance or PE specialism, experience in a secondary school, and strong classroom management. The school offers a positive, high-achieving environment and market leading pay rates.

Job Title: Dance Teacher

Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £190 - £220 per day depending on experience

Do you have the confidence to teach PE alongside Dance across a secondary school timetable?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Outstanding OFSTED-rated mainstream secondary school in Chelmsford who are looking to appoint a Dance Teacher. The school provides a positive and high-achieving environment where pupils are encouraged to engage fully in both academic and practical subjects.

The school is looking to take on a Dance Teacher for four days per week on a long-term basis, covering staff sickness. The successful Dance Teacher will primarily teach GCSE Dance at Key Stage 4 / KS4, alongside timetabled PE lessons across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4.

The successful Dance Teacher will have:

• QTS with a relevant Dance or PE specialism, with ECTs also welcome to apply
• Experience teaching Dance within a secondary school environment
• Experience delivering GCSE Dance at Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Confidence teaching PE across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A flexible and enthusiastic approach to teaching
