Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for an English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Cheshire West area from 30 November 2026 until 11 January 2027. This is a genuine, full-time teaching vacancy offering an excellent opportunity for a qualified English Teacher seeking a short-term assignment without the additional workload of planning and preparing lessons.

All lessons will be delivered from pre‑planned material, allowing the successful candidate to focus on engaging KS3 English

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school.
• Confident delivering KS3 English.
• Strong knowledge in English Language and Literature.
• Demonstrates effective classroom and behaviour management.
• Can deliver pre-prepared lessons confidently and independently.
• Reliable, adaptable, and professional.
• Available 30 November 2026 to 11 January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned KS3 English lessons.
• Teach reading, writing, comprehension and language skills.
• Support pupils with literature and creative writing.
• Explain content clearly and engage pupils.
• Adapt delivery for different abilities and learning needs.
• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and routines.
• Monitor pupil engagement and provide feedback.
• Follow safeguarding and behaviour policies.
• Work professionally with English department colleagues.
