Job summary

Sir Harry Smith Community College is seeking a maternity cover Science teacher for an 11-18 academy within Aspire Learning Trust, starting February 2027 for up to one year. You will teach Science across KS3/KS4 and may contribute to KS5 where possible, with a focus on raising attainment and supporting colleagues.

Excellent classroom practice and a commitment to safeguarding are essential; visa sponsorship is not available. The role welcomes both experienced and early career teachers.

Qualifications

• Excellent track record of raising attainment.
• Ability to motivate students and staff.
• Willingness to share experiences and good practice with colleagues.
• Eligibility to work in the UK; Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory employment references.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Science lessons at Key Stage 3 and 4.
