E-ACT DSLV Academy is seeking a Teacher of Science (Maternity Cover) to deliver KS3/KS4 science lessons and foster a safe, supportive classroom where every student can thrive. You will build positive relationships and maintain high expectations for learning.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
• Degree in Science or related subject.
• Proven ability to teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Effective communication and teamwork with colleagues, parents and carers.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students that encourage engagement and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire, challenge, and engage students of all abilities, ensuring they make strong academic progress.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued and motivated to succeed.
• Set high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement, helping students develop resilience, confidence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using data effectively to identify barriers to learning and provide targeted support where needed.
• Contribute to the wider life of the academy, working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to raise aspirations and ensure the best possible outcomes for all students.
