Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is working with a Derby City primary school to recruit a dedicated KS2 Teacher for a full-time maternity-cover role covering Years 5/6 from after October half term until July 2027. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging lessons, manage a Year 5/6 class, assess pupil progress, and work closely with a parallel teacher to ensure consistency across the year group.

QTS is required; ECTs welcomed.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS); applications from ECTs warmly welcomed.
• Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5/6.
• Strong classroom management and ability to support children's development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a Year 5/6 class.
• Take full responsibility for teaching, pupil progress and daily classroom management.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, provide feedback and support.
