Job summary

Academics Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Redbridge, London, supporting a KS2 child with ASD. The role is full-time, ASAP start, and runs until at least July 2027, offering a stable long-term opportunity.

You will work on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 child with ASD, providing tailored support throughout the school day and collaborating with the class teacher to deliver inclusive lessons.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Experience with ASD or SEN is desirable.
• Patient, caring and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to help the child access teaching activities.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support the child in developing social skills and relationships with peers.
• Encourage communication and help the child express needs and feelings.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement in class.
