Job summary

Academics is assisting a primary school in Billericay, Essex, to recruit a KS2 Teaching Assistant for a full-time, year-long role starting September 2026.

You will support KS2 pupils, work with the class teacher to deliver learning, provide support to individuals and small groups, and help pupils become more confident and independent learners. There is potential to move into a permanent position after the contract.

Qualifications

• Experience working with KS2 pupils.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, approachable and encouraging.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the KS2 curriculum.
• Work alongside the class teacher to help deliver effective learning.
• Provide additional support to individuals and small groups.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
• Assist with preparation and classroom organisation.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Support pupils in becoming more confident and independent learners.
