Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated KS2 Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Steeple Claydon, Buckinghamshire, starting September 2026. Plan and deliver engaging lessons, differentiate for diverse learners, and foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom.

You will need a degree in Education with QTS and KS2 teaching experience, plus strong communication and organisational skills. DBS check required. The salary ranges from £29,344 to £44,919 per year.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant discipline.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • Design inclusive lesson plans addressing diverse abilities.
  • Foster a stimulating classroom environment promoting curiosity and development.
  • Provide high-quality teaching across Key Stage 2.
  • Support pupils in literacy, numeracy and critical thinking.
  • Differentiate to meet the needs of all learners and work with teaching assistants.
  • Communicate with parents and carers about pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and leaders and contribute to staff meetings.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development and Planning
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • Design inclusive lesson plans that address diverse abilities and learning styles.
  • Foster a stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity and development.
Classroom Teaching
  • Provide high-quality teaching across Key Stage 2.
  • Support pupils in developing key skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking.
  • Encourage independence, curiosity, and a lifelong passion for learning.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate all pupils.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom atmosphere.
Assessment and Progress Tracking
  • Use both formative and summative assessments to monitor pupil progress effectively.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support individual development.
  • Keep accurate records of attainment and progress in line with school policies.
Differentiation and Individualised Support
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and higher-attaining pupils.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants to deliver targeted interventions as required.
  • Ensure every pupil receives appropriate support and challenge to thrive.
Communication and Collaboration
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and senior leaders.
  • Contribute actively to staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, including parents' evenings.
Professional Development
  • Keep abreast of developments in primary education and Key Stage 2 best practises.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching expertise and subject knowledge.
The Ideal Candidate
  • A degree in Education or a relevant discipline (a Master's degree is advantageous).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 or equivalent settings.
  • Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum, including literacy and numeracy.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for primary education and fostering an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
