Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEND within a Key Stage 2 classroom environment
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
  • Assist with differentiated learning activities tailored to individual needs
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff to follow individual support plans
  • Support pupils during transitions and throughout the school day
  • Maintain a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Observe and share information regarding pupil progress and well-being
  • Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times

KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temporary to permanent from September 2026

The KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with additional needs within a Key Stage 2 setting, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and build independence. This role is well suited to a calm, patient, and committed KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils to make meaningful progress.

Duties as KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Support pupils with SEND within a Key Stage 2 classroom environment
