Job summary

Educato Limited is recruiting for a KS2 Classroom Teaching Assistant / SEN Support to join a primary school in Eccles, Salford on a full-time maternity cover basis.

The role involves supporting pupils in a KS2 mainstream classroom, delivering targeted SEN support, and helping children manage behaviour and emotions to stay engaged throughout the day. You will work with the class teacher and the wider support team to create a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a primary school setting with pupils.
• Confident in supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient and consistent in approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with children.
• Resilient and capable in difficult situations.
• Proactive and able to use initiative.
• Reliable and committed to consistency for pupils.
• Strong team player working with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the KS2 classroom.
• Provide targeted SEN support where required.
• Help children manage challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Support engagement with lessons and activities.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support when needed.
• Encourage confidence, independence and social skills.
