Job summary

Milk Education is looking for a passionate and dedicated KS2 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Stockton-on-Tees. You’ll support KS2 pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping children with additional needs access learning, build confidence and develop their independence.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide personalised support and targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN/SEND is preferred but not essential.
• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, community or similar setting.
• Paediatric First Aid certification is desirable.
• Graduates and candidates with relevant volunteer or placement experience are encouraged to apply!
• Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting children.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs.
• Support KS2 pupils with SEN/SEND, helping them access classroom learning and activities.
• Assist with targeted interventions and personalised learning activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with personal care where required.
