Job summary

Reeson Education in Brent is seeking a KS2 Learning Mentor to support Year 5 pupils as they prepare for Year 6 and SATs, and to work with Year 6 pupils to strengthen academic skills, confidence and readiness for assessments.

You will partner with teachers and school leaders to provide targeted academic and pastoral support, helping pupils develop confidence in English and Mathematics and fostering positive study habits and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly KS2.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions in English and Mathematics to support progress towards Year 6 SATs.
• Work alongside class teachers to reinforce learning objectives and identify pupils who require additional support.
• Support Year 5 pupils with a smooth transition into Year 6 by developing key literacy, numeracy and study skills.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence, motivation and a growth mindset.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning through targeted academic and emotional support.
• Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
• Liaise with teachers and parents/carers to provide updates on pupil progress where appropriate.
• Assist with SATs preparation, revision sessions and examination techniques.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and effective learning habits within the classroom.
• Contribute to creating a supportive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
