Job summary

Scholar Green Primary School in Nottingham is inviting applications for an enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Leader to join on a one-year maternity cover. The post combines leadership time across Years 3–6 with teaching a Year 5 class.

The successful candidate will lead teaching and learning across KS2, set high expectations, support colleagues through coaching, and contribute to school improvement while maintaining strong links with parents and the wider community. A computing specialism is desirable.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
• Strong knowledge of effective teaching and learning.
• Secure understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• High expectations for pupils' achievement, behaviour and attitudes.
• Experience using assessment to identify pupils' needs and inform teaching.
• Understanding of how to support pupils with SEND.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
• Evidence of professional development and commitment to continued learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop provision across Key Stage 2.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of curriculum and teaching.
• Support colleagues through professional dialogue, collaboration and coaching.
• Use assessment information to identify pupils' needs and inform teaching.
• Ensure pupils facing barriers, including SEND and disadvantaged pupils, access an ambitious curriculum.
• Contribute to school improvement planning and evaluate impact of priorities.
• Support effective transition and progression across Key Stage 2.
• Work with parents and the wider school community.
• Contribute to wider school leadership and improvement priorities.
• Foster a culture of high expectations and professional development.
