Job summary

Newton Westpark Primary School in Leigh (WN7 5JY) is seeking an experienced KS2 Class Teacher for maternity leave cover. The role is part-time, 3 days per week (Wednesday and Friday).

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with a proven track record of raising achievement, strong KS2 curriculum knowledge, and a commitment to developing home–school relationships and collaboration with other agencies. Interview date: 21st October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in KS2 teaching with a proven track record of raising attainment.
• Excellent knowledge of KS2 curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Strong behaviour management and safeguarding commitment.
• Willingness to develop practice and collaborate with colleagues and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching in KS2 classes and contribute to planning and assessment.
• Support the school’s drive to raise pupil achievement and attainment.
• Develop and maintain effective home–school partnerships and multi-agency links.
