Job summary

Swalwell Primary School in Gateshead is seeking an enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our dedicated team on a temporary basis from January 2027. The role is full time (10 sessions) with a salary range of £32,916 to £51,048, pay award pending.

Qualifications

• Excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of learning, achievement and behaviour.
• Strong commitment to inclusion and ensuring accessible curriculum for all pupils.
• Experience meeting the needs of pupils with SEND, SEMH needs and additional vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and external agencies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and teaching practice.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and school community.
