Job summary

Teaching Personnel are partnering with a supportive primary school in the Vale of Glamorgan to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for KS2. The role involves helping pupils regulate behaviour, support emotional wellbeing, and boost classroom engagement.

Ideal candidates are calm, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with children and staff. Full-time, long-term opportunities with CPD access are available, with competitive PAYE pay and local consultant support.

Qualifications

• Experience in behaviour support roles or related TA/assistive roles preferred.
• Ability to support KS2 pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
• Strong relationship-building with pupils, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support KS2 pupils to engage with learning and meet individual targets.
• Apply behaviour management strategies to minimise disruptions.
• Build positive relationships to promote trust and emotional growth.
• Assist children with social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
• Model calm and constructive self-regulation during the day.
• Provide one-to-one or small-group targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers, ALN staff and parents to ensure consistency.
