Job summary

Castlewood School is seeking a qualified KS2/KS3 Class Teacher to work within a unique primary-secondary hybrid model, supporting pupils’ emotional and academic transition from primary into secondary education. The role centers on teaching Year 7 as a core class, delivering English, Maths and Science within a primary-style provision while integrating with subject specialists for non-core subjects.

Qualifications

• QTS required and relevant teaching qualifications.
• Experience teaching primary and/or lower secondary pupils.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
• Experience working in a specialist or alternative provision setting.
• Experience supporting transition between KS2 and KS3.
• Ability to teach across a range of subjects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons meeting needs of pupils with additional needs.
• Use assessment and data to inform planning and pupil progress.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development alongside academics.
• Create a safe, structured classroom with high behavioural expectations.
• Support pupil transition into secondary curriculum and routines.
• Collaborate with colleagues and subject specialists to ensure consistency.
