Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Year 2 Teacher for a warm primary school in Penarth. This temporary full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality, engaging lessons in a positive KS1 environment and supporting young learners as they progress through the curriculum.

The successful candidate will lead a Year 2 class, plan effective lessons, assess progress and foster pupil confidence and a love of learning. QTS and KS1 experience are essential; enhanced DBS and EWC registration are expected or

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• Experience teaching KS1, ideally Year 2.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour positively and consistently.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• DBS Update Service or willingness to apply.
• EWC registration or willingness to register.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 2 lessons.
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to needs.
• Create a calm, supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school.
• Maintain positive communication with pupils, staff and parents.
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence and good behaviour.
