Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a KS1 Teacher to support a variety of primary settings across Plymstock and surrounding areas. You will deliver engaging lessons to KS1 pupils, following provided plans, and contribute to a positive school community.

Ideal candidates hold QTS or equivalent, with strong KS1 knowledge and excellent classroom management. You will adapt to different schools and year groups while safeguarding pupils' welfare.

KS1 Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different primary school settings. You’ll be supporting schools in Plymstock and the surrounding areas, teaching Key Stage 1 pupils across a range of subjects.


Duties as KS1 Teacher:


  • Deliver engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum following provided plans

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies

  • Assess and record pupil progress where required

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of different learners

  • Communicate effectively with staff and contribute to the wider school community


Ideal KS1 Teacher:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge across the KS1 curriculum

  • Excellent classroom management skills

  • Adaptable and confident working across different schools and year groups

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
