Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking a KS1 Teacher for flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately in Totnes and surrounding areas. You will teach Key Stage 1 pupils across a range of subjects, delivering engaging lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

The role supports safeguarding and promotion of pupil welfare, with responsibilities spanning planning, assessment, and collaboration with school staff across multiple settings.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Strong knowledge across KS1 curriculum is essential.
• Excellent classroom management skills are needed.
• Able to work across different schools and year groups.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare is required.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

KS1 Teacher – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately

These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different primary school settings. You’ll be supporting schools in Totnes and the surrounding areas, teaching Key Stage 1 pupils across a range of subjects.

Duties as KS1 Teacher:

• Deliver engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum following provided plans


• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment


• Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies


• Assess and record pupil progress where required


• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of different learners


• Communicate effectively with staff and contribute to the wider school community

Ideal KS1 Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
