Job summary

Randstad Education is partnering with local primary schools in Guildford to recruit a KS1 Teacher (Year 1 or Year 2). The role offers scale-matched pay (£140–£233 per day) and weekly payments. Immediate start with strong induction and support for Early Career Teachers.

You will deliver phonics and a creative curriculum, supporting young learners as they embark on reading and writing journeys within the National Curriculum.

Qualifications

• QTS mandatory; ECTs/NQTs encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding of systematic synthetic phonics (SSP).
• Willingness to obtain/update DBS via Update Service and commitment to safeguarding.
• Experience delivering KS1 curriculum aligned with National Curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact phonics sessions daily.
• Plan and deliver creative Numeracy and Literacy lessons per National Curriculum.
• Create a nurturing KS1 classroom where children feel safe to take risks.
• Use formative assessment to track progress and tailor support.
