Your new school
Beacon Academy is a thriving Primary Academy in Loughborough, serving children aged 2 to 11 years old. We are dedicated to ensuring that every child receives an excellent education every day, with high expectations, a broad and enriching curriculum, and a strong focus on personal development.
The school was graded ‘good’ in all areas in 2021 by Ofsted and has gone from strength to strength since. In January 2024 we appointed an ambitious Principal, Mr Ben Kilgannon, who lives locally and is hugely passionate about the school, its community and staff. Your new role
Due to a maternity leave we are looking for a KS1 teacher, most likely Y2 class teacher with phase leadership responsibility. This is an exciting opportunity to join our extended leadership group and have a wide impact upon the school. There is the opportunity for subject responsibility for the right candidate and we welcome applicants with experience or seeking new leadership experience. Working closely with our deputy head you will deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, facilitate a positive learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

You will be able to take subject-specific training that enhances subject knowledge, attend events with inspirational guest speakers and offered continuous career progression.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher who has patience and understanding with young children. You’ll be able to quickly adjust teaching methods to meet the needs of all children. It’s important you have the flexibility to be able to handle unexpected situations with professionalism and patience in interactions with a variety of children and situations, with a calm demeanour.
